Tech savvy-ness: Boon or Bane
This being the first post for this blog, I start by saying all the praise to the HOLY LIGHT for giving us a brain to think.
Let’s think! We the millennials have embossed ourselves so much in technology, that we fail to understand the very fabric of life. TO FEEL.
We are so lost, in the beauty of nature seen in pictures; that we fail to realise that the real beauty is in the adventure and the experience we get while visiting those places.
We are so lost, in showering likes and comments on are friends and our loved-ones achievements; that we fail to make ourselves present in the same for making it a memorable moment for them.
We are so lost, in sharing posts that show sympathy and compassion; that we fail to show true compassion and sympathy to the ones in need.
These were some of the examples, that came to my mind, while starting to write this post.
But,
These were not meant to be an issue, since technology was meant to make life easy.
The introduction of travel photography, was to share different locations on the internet, so that all those undiscovered places could be finally discovered. We had to actually take information from the internet for visiting unknown places. Instead, we went the extra mile of using tech and ended up saving those posts as bookmarks and create a bucket list of places to visit. Now, this list stays as a list, as it is almost difficult for a middle class man drowned in all forms of debt and working in a 9 to 5 job, to clear off this list.
Similarly, in earlier days birthday and marriage celebrations were mostly celebrated in a grand fashion, so that all of the known friends and relatives would attend and shower their blessings. However, in today’s tech savvy and busy world, everyone is happy to post their celebrated pics on the social media, while the others are happy to show their support through like and comments. This trend has developed so much that, even the ones who are available in the same city and have not so important plans, end up giving an excuse for not being available, also in order to make amendments they like and comment on social media updates. Don’t know, what would happen in near future if this trend progress. I will let you folks to decide. Let me know in the comments, how far would this go according to your imagination.
Also, the same effect is taking on all the sympathy required posts on social media. Previously we had people showing support for cruelty on women, animals, child labor etc. by coming forward and protesting and giving a helping hand to the one in need. But in a world like today, where work from home is the new normal. Everyone is contented by sharing and liking on posts, that were meant to cater help to the ones in need.
Again, we come back to the same word; “FEEL”.
We have feelings for all the above points, but the way of manifesting those feelings have changed. I guess, in this fast paced developing world, where fossil fuel powered vehicles are being turned into electric and AI powered ones. It is high time we start to ponder the true meaning of life. Let’s start to think and feel!
Peace out.
